Although "Camp" is our last name, Harmony Heart's facilities are flexible enough
to accommodate a wide range of gatherings. Whether you're planning a camp experience,
retreat, conference, training program, or seminar, Harmony Heart offers comfort,
convenience and plenty of recreational opportunities. There is always delicious dining,
and an atmosphere of warmth and welcome.
The following brief summaries will help acquaint you with our facilities.
The Grounds -- Harmony Heart's beautiful setting is undoubtedly what brings back
many groups year after year. Our thirty acres of wooded hillside and lawn-covered
fields bordering the waters of Heart Lake are a standing invitation to revel in the
beauty of God's natural creation.
Dormitories -- Rooms vary in size, and sleep from six to twenty people bunk-bed style.
Women's rooms are in the Lodge building, while men are housed in a two-story wing
adjacent to the Gymnasium. The women's baths feature private shower stalls, each
with its own dressing area; men's showers are private with communal dressing areas.
Upper Field -- About ten acres of wide open, grass-covered turf, the Upper Field
is the ideal place for soccer, softball, touch football, ultimate frisbee, capture-the-flag
-- and the occasional water balloon fight!
Hillside Chapel -- Shaded by maple and pine trees, this open-air amphitheater seats
115, and curves around a stone fire circle and speaker's area. Be sure to bring those
songbooks -- and don't forget the marshmallows!
Waterfront -- During the summer months, this is arguably the most popular camp facility.
When open for use, it is always staffed with at least one certified lifeguard. Here
you'll find a roped-off swimming area with both shallow and deep-water sections (campers
must pass a swim test to use the deep-water and diving areas). At the dock, select
your choice of row boats, paddle boats or canoes. If you enjoy fishing, drop a line
to the lake's bluegill, perch, crappie, bass, bullhead and sunfish. (You'll need
to bring your own pole, and Pennsylvania does require a license if you're over 15.)
Water slide and Snow Tube Run -- Summer campers agree: the thrilling ride down this
250-foot-long slippery chute is definitely worth the walk back up to the top! During
the winter months, it's just as much fun and twice as long when turned into our snow
Tubing Run.
Messiah Trail -- Take the trail to explore some of our thirty acres. This twenty
minute trail winds through our woods and along the upper field returning to the main
camp with magnificent views of the lake along the way.
ChesNew-- A small separate building that can accommodate up to 50 guests. For groups
that bring arts and crafts along, ChesNew offers tables and chairs for a creative
experience. It can also be converted into a meeting room.
